Betty Carter was an accomplished jazz singer, who gained a great reputation for the ability to perform scatting and improvise. She would have the great, mutual fortune of working with Charlie Parker, Charles Mingus, Miles Davis, Wes Montgomery and Sonny Rollins. She would even do some teaching with Dizzy Gillespie.
