Composed by Ernie Burnett before being published in 1912, “My Melancholy Baby” was a song whose first public performer was William Frawley. It would be subsequently recorded by such jazz greats as Dizzy Gillespie, Coleman Hawkins, Lennie Tristano, Charlie Parker and Thelonious Monk.
