The great flutist and an orchestra revive "Bolero"
French composer Maurice Ravel’s most famous composition is his “Bolero” which he wrote in 1928.
There have been many recorded versions of “Bolero” during the past 90 years with one of the very best “covers” being this rendition by flutist Hubert Laws, released on his Family album in 1980.
Joined by such notables as pianist Chick Corea and guitarist Earl Klugh along with strings and a brass section, Laws does justice to the classic piece.
The 14-minute version, in addition to Laws and the stirring ensembles, has a short solo by Corea.
