Saxophonist James Carter performs the Lester Young standard "Lester Leaps In" at the 1996 Newport Jazz Festival.
The tune, which uses the famous "I Got Rhythm" chord changes, was first recorded by Count Basie's Kansas City Seven in 1939. Carter and special guest Javan Jackson due Prez justice with a series of fiery solos.
