1946's New Orleans was one of the best Louis Armstrong movies and the only Hollywood film to feature Billie Holiday.

On an excerpt from the film titled "Where The Blues Were Born In New Orleans," Armstrong sings a tribute to New Orleans jazz.

He introduces each of his musicians (which include his former boss trombonist Kid Ory, clarinetist Barney Bigard and the young bassist Red Callender) while Billie Holiday enjoys the happy scene.

Personnel:

Louis Armstrong, vocal, trumpet
Kid Ory, trombone
Barney Bigard, clarinet
Bud Scott, guitar
Charlie Beal, piano
Red Callender, bass
Zutty Singleton, drums

- Scott Yanow
