In the 16mm early 1970s film on the history of percussion titled "The Beats Go On" Shelly Manne is featured demonstrating different drumming techniques.

As the 1950s progressed jazz became more frequently used for television and film sound tracks.

By the early 1960s Shelly Manne's drumming began ton appear prominently in many films directed by Henry Mancini including "Breakfast at Tiffany's" and "The Pink Panther" (1963).

He would also perform Doug Goodwin's score with Ray Brown and Jimmy Rowles for "The Ant and the Aardvark" cartoon series beginning in the late '60s.

In addition he provide percussive contributions to numerous other cartoons, movies, television shows, and even educational films.
