Metheny, Swallow and Moses play a tasteful version of Hancock’s familiar song

One of the major guitarists of the past 45 years, Pat Metheny took time off from the Pat Metheny Group in 1988 to perform in a trio with bassist Steve Swallow and drummer Bob Moses at the Montreal Jazz Festival.
Metheny, who is impossible to categorize except as a modern jazz guitarist, shows that he is quite comfortable stretching out on a Herbie Hancock standard.
Swallow also has a fine spot before the funky jazz tune reaches its conclusion.
