Soulful blues
Jimmy Johnson (guitar & vocals) in 1981 with his band.
Working as a welder by day Jimmy Johnson honed his skills as a blues guitarist at night during his off hours throughout the 1950s. In 1959 he began his professional career in the Chicago clubs accompanying Slim Willis. Johnson performed extensively as a member of different blues and soul groups during the 1960s. He toured Japan with Otis Rush in the mid-70s and in 1978 released his first solo album.
