Peg Leg Sam stars in his own 1976 documentary “Born For Hard Luck.”
Veteran harmonica player and all around character, Arthur Jackson adopted the name ‘Peg Leg Sam’ after losing his leg in an unfortunate hoboing accident whilst trying to hop a train in 1930. Sam made his living from tips he earned as a street performer and spent many years on the medicine show circuit. He is best remember for his association with Pink Anderson and traveling with “Chief Thunder Cloud’s Medicine Show.”
