Voice of Chicago soul-blues Artie “Blues Boy” White makes an appearance on The Jacque Carter Show performing a song written by Travis “Moonchild” Haddix.
It was in his home town of Vicksburg, Mississippi that Artie White received his first public musical experience as a singer in a gospel group the Harps of David. He moved to Chicago in 1956 where he continued his religious offerings with the Full Gospel Wonders. Artie became known by the name “Blues Boy” in the early 60’s after crossing over to his own soulful brand of blues. He even enjoyed a brief hit on the R&B charts with “You Are My Leanin’ Tree” in 1977.
