Easy Rider & I’ve Got My Eyes On You
Sonny Terry
Life & Harp
Sonny Terry (harmonica & vocals) is captured on film during the 1960s performing the three songs “Easy Rider”, “Beautiful City” (a spiritual), and I’ve Got My Eyes On You.”
In a rare intimate solo appearance without his usual accompanist Brownie McGhee, Sonny demonstrates the wide range and diversity of his harmonica. Blinded in a accident during his youth Sonny Terry started out playing in a trio led by Piedmont blues guitarist Blind Boy Fuller. He was invited to perform at Carnegie Hall for the first From Spirituals to Swing concert in 1938 and played with the legendary Lead Belly.
