Sonny Boy Nelson (guitar & vocals) performs in Greenville, Mississippi on August 31, 1978 filmed by Alan Lomax, John Bishop, and Worth Long. Nelson sings Blind Lemon Jefferson’s famous “Matchbox Blues” adding his own verses, a practice common in the blues. The song is followed by short discussion about the tune and reminiscence of playing in juke joints with his old partner Richard “Hacksaw” Harney.
