Rockin’ With Red
Piano Red
Red’s Hit
This record was cut at WGST radio studios in Atlanta in October 1950 featuring William “Piano Red” Perryman (piano), accompanied by William Jones (bass), and William Green (drums).
“Rockin’ With Red”, Piano Red’s big hit was among the first music of it’s kind marketed to white audiences. At the start of his career record labels were slowly making the transition form segregated ‘race recordings’ to Rhythm & Blues.
