Feb. 21, 1903 – Oct. 7, 1962

Recorded by Scrapper Blackwell (guitar & vocals) in Chicago on July 20, 1928.

After making his recording debut in June of 1928 guitarist Scrapper Blackwell began performing with Indianapolis pianist Leroy Carr. The duo would record together that same year setting the standard for the pairing of guitar and piano in the blues genre. Blackwell recorded extensively with Carr until the later’s untimely death in 1935.
