Before the Fire

This record was made in Chicago on July 27, 1935 featuring “Doctor” Peter Clayton (vocal), accompanied by Beatrice ‘Toots’ Willis (piano). This represents one of the six sides that Clayton recorded for Bluebird in 1935; only two of which were ever issued. His life was forever altered two years later when his wife and children perished in a tragic house fire.
