At the 1991 Skopje Jazz Festival in Macedonia, Jimmy Dawkins (guitar & vocals) performs accompanied by Joel Perry (guitar), Ken Vangel (piano), Tim Green (bass), and Mike Warner (drums).
A reprehensive of West Side Chicago blues Jimmy Dawkins was born in Tchula, Mississippi in 1936. He moved to Chicago where he got a job at a box factory just prior to his 20th birthday and started building a reputation as a reliable session musician while playing clubs. Beginning in the late 1970s he would achieve greater success touring Europe.
