Marsalis plays and sings (!) a blues

Although he was considered one of the great jazz trumpeters of the past four decades, one does not think of Wynton Marsalis as being a singer.
However at a Louis Armstrong tribute concert in 2015, Marsalis can be seen and heard not only playing “2:19 Blues” (a piece that Armstrong recorded in 1940 with Sidney Bechet) but singing a bit.
This unusual but successful performance also has a prominent spot for trombonist Sam Chess in a group that includes Walter Blanding and Victor Goines on reeds, pianist Dan Nimmer, bassist Carlos Henriquez and drummer Jason Marsalis.
