Born in France and now a resident of New Orleans, Cyrille Aimeé burst upon the jazz scene in 2009 and has since become one of jazz’s most consistently colorful and talented singers.
She has shown a lot of versatility through the years while always being able to excel in loose jam settings.
With the Emmet Cohen Trio in 2021 (which includes bassist Russell Hall and drummer Kyle Poole), she swings her way through Charlie Parker’s “Yardbird Suite.”
Cohen and Poole have impressive solos while Cyrille Aimeé takes two hot scat interludes, during her solo and over the closing vamp.
