As far as I know, Mingus never made it to Cuba…but his music sure did.

Here are students from the Instituto Superior de Arte (ISA) in Havana playing “Moanin'” The ISA is Cuba’s national school for the arts. If you get in, it’s tuition free.

This was filmed in one shot with no edits by Al Carmona and uploaded to YouTube in 2006.

That’s Jorge Vistel on trumpet and Regis Molina on baritone sax.
