You might think you don’t understand Taylor’s playing, but I assure you, if you’re in the room and spend enough time with it, not only will you understand it, you’ll find yourself inside it and be very glad you are.

Jimmy Lyons is one of the great unheralded alto saxophone players of all time. Andrew Cyrille is a peerless drummer.

My opinion, but don’t cheat yourself by thinking that this music reveals its value in just a few minutes of listening. These guys are tight with a capital “T.”
