Louis Armstrong recorded a countless number of songs in his career, but never Stephen Foster’s “Beautiful Dreamer.”
He was a favorite of Ed Sullivan’s who featured Armstrong on many of his shows.
Accompanied by an unseen orchestra, Louis Armstrong sings a heartfelt chorus of “Beautiful Dreamer” as a ballad, and then swings it on his trumpet, building up to a high note.
