One of the greatest singers of all time, Sarah Vaughan (1924-90) had a flawless voice, was among the first vocalists to fully understand bebop, and never sang a passionless note.

This Snader television transcription from around 1951 has Sassy singing one verse and one chorus while accompanied by an unseen orchestra.

In three minutes she certainly gets her message across.
