In the 1940s, Nat King Cole was a brilliant swing pianist who sometimes sang while in the 1950s he was a very popular singer who sometimes played piano.
He never lost his ability to do both as he frequently showed on his television series in 1957.
Here are two versions of “Tea For Two” that were filmed for his show.
While the general arrangement on these instrumentals is the same, his piano solos are very different.
One can see the influence that he had on Oscar Peterson.
