Ever since she recorded her first album in 2010, Melissa Aldana has been one of the top tenor-saxophonists of recent times, one who has consistently reached her great potential.
In 2018 she performed with guitarist Perry Smith’s quartet, a group also including bassist Mat Aronoff and drummer Jay Sawyer.
The musicians take the veteran standard “All The Things You Are” as a jazz waltz with Smith’s mellow-toned but fluent guitar solo being followed by a fiery statement from the tenor.
