A skilled soloist in the hard bop tradition, Jeremy Pelt has been one of the finest trumpeters in jazz of the past 20 years, leading 21albums of his own since 2002 in addition to recording with Vincent Herring, Ralph Peterson Jr, Lonnie Plaxico, Louis Hayes, the Mingus Big Band, Jim Snidero and many others.

On his version of the Benny Golson standard “Along Came Betty” Pelt is in restrained form, playing melodically and with a mute.

Warren Wolf is best known as a vibraphonist but, as is shown here, is equally skilled as a pianist.

The quartet, which is seen performing at Keystone Korner Baltimore, also includes bassist Blake Meister (who takes a fine solo) and drummer Lee Pearson.
