Autumn Leaves – 2014

Beegie Adair

The pianist adds class and gentle swing to a standard

Beegie Adair (1937-2022) was born in Kentucky, began playing the piano when she was five, and as a session, studio and jazz pianist and an educator spent most of her life living and working in Nashville starting in 1961.

She did not record her first album as a leader until 1997 but led around 6 5 albums after that and was considered a local legend.

Adair always played in a melodic style full of impeccable taste and swing.

She is featured stretching out on “Autumn Leaves” with bassist Roger Spencer and drummer Chris Brown, members of her longtime trio.
