Long an excellent jazz flute player although a bit underrated, Ali Ryerson has been performing consistently inventive music since the late 1980s and has led 13 albums of her own since 1992.

Some of the highlights of her career including performing and in many cases touring with Stephane Grappelli, Billy Taylor, Kenny Barron, Red Rodney, Laurindo Almeida, and Frank Wess, and making duo alums with guitarist Joe Beck.

From 2006, she performs a hard-swinging version of “Beautiful Love” in a quartet with pianist Steve Rudolph, bassist Victor Dvoskin, and drummer Joe Hunt; each of the musicians gets a chance to be in the spotlight.
