Tina May (1961-2022) was a major jazz singer in Great Britain who recorded 27 albums as a leader from 1992 to 2021.
While she was an excellent interpreter of lyrics, Tina May was also an inventive scat singer, a skill that is very much evident throughout the boppish “Beloved.”
For this swinging performance, the singer is joined by pianist Frank Harrison, bassist Mark Hodgson, and drummer Stephen Keogh.
