There have only been a handful of major jazz harpists (as opposed to harmonica players) throughout history.
A list with Casper Reardon, Adele Girard, Dorothy Ashby, Alice Coltrane and just a few others would be pretty completet.
Brandee Younger first gained a bit of prominence in 2007 when she worked with Ravi Coltrane; she has since risen to the top of her small field.
From 2008, Brandee Younger is heard early in her career playing Alice Coltrane’s “Blue Nile” in a trio with bassist Corcoran Holt and drummer Jerome Jennings, both of whom have short solos.
