On December 31, 1985, PBS hosted a very special New Year’s Eve jazz special featuring many of the greats of the period.
The concluding number of the night teamed baritonist Gerry Mulligan with pianist Cedar Walton, bassist Ray Brown and drummer Mickey Roker.
This swinging version of “Broadway” has spots for all four musicians before the closing credits lead to a fade out.
Mulligan was in particularly prime form throughout the broadcast and clearly had a good time jamming with the all-star group.
