Ken Peplowski has been one of jazz’s top clarinetists since the 1980s, while Brazilian guitarist Diego Figueiredo has emerged during the past decade as a versatile and virtuosic guitarist with a style of his own.
They toured together as a duo in 2018, and as this joyful version of “Caravan” shows, they are very much a complete band by themselves.
Figueiredo has no difficulty functioning as a full rhythm section, providing Peplowski with a solid foundation on which to solo.
