Cyrille Aimee has been one of the top jazz singers during the past dozen years, whether singing in gypsy jazz settings, swing combos, or interpreting more modern material; she always seems willing to stretch herself.
While pianist Ryan Hanseler was born in Boston, he is a superb New Orleans-based pianist who combines together traditional jazz and New Orleans r&b in his playing as he has shown with Branford Marsalis, Dee Dee Bridgewater, and Delfeayo Marsalis among others.
Cyrille Aimee and Ryan Hanseler perform a delight duet version of “Cheek To Cheek” that plays a bit with time yet holds together quite well and swings hard, particularly during the infectious closing vamp.
