Danny Boy

Keith Jarrett

“Tokyo, Japan, 2002”

A 1910 composition by Frederick Weatherly, “Danny Boy” has since become a classic of Irish folk music. Its newer words written by an Englishman, the original melody, “Londonberry Air,” dates back probably to as early as the late 18th century. Londonberry Air originated in Northern Ireland and is now played as the country’s victory anthem at the Commonwealth Games.
