Erroll Garner (1921-77) is most famous for writing “Misty” and his playing on medium and uptempo tunes where his right and left hand chordings created an echo effect.
Garner, who had his own melodic style (one could always hear the melody in everything he played) was also masterful at creating romantic ballads.
“Dreamy” is one of Garner’s warmest ballads and he put plenty of feeling into this version which has the pianist accompanied by bassist Eddie Calhoun and drummer Kelly Martin.
