Art Blakey the father of modern bebop drumming faces off against Elvin Jones and Sunny Murray.

Sunny Murray was one of the first jazz percussionists to forgo the drums role as strictly a time keeper in favor of pure texture.

Remembered for his year with Charles Mingus, and the classic Coltrane Quartet, Elvin Jones was also the leader of his own highly influential groups.
