Tasteful swinging from a master

Ever since he emerged in the jazz major leagues in the mid-1970s, Scott Hamilton has been one of the most consistent of all jazz players.
The tenor-saxophonist began his career as a swing stylist and he has stuck to that path throughout his productive career, never recording an unworthy performance or a tasteless solo.
While he is originally from the Northeast of the U.S., Hamilton has spent much of the second half of his career living and playing in Europe.
This version of “East Of The Sun” finds him joined in Vienna by pianist Herbert Swoboda, guitarist Martin Spitzer, bassist Hans Strasser, and drummer Walter Grossrubatscher for a typically swinging and tasteful performance.
