One of the top jazz singers of the past 20 years, Tierney Sutton has been an increasingly influential vocalist and educator.

She is featured with her long-time group (pianist Christian Jacob, bassist Kevin Axt, and drummer Ray Brinker) in 2015 when she was performing a set of music associated with Frank Sinatra to celebrate Sinatra’s centennial.

Tierney Sutton starts out on “East Of The Sun” singing unaccompanied for a chorus while setting a fast tempo; she then scats with her trio and gives her instrumentalists some solo space before taking the melody out with her own distinctive phrasing.
