Talented organist Joey DeFrancesco was offered a position in Miles Davis’ band when he was only seventeen.

He toured Europe and worked with John McLaughlin gaining popularity in the 1990s.

DeFrancesco paid homage to his mentor Jimmy Smith with the 1999 High Note release “The Champ.”

Joey DeFrancesco performs in Germany with his trio at the 1990 Bern Jazz Festival.
