Artemis is a supergroup, an all-star sextet in which each of the musicians just happens to be female.
Veteran pianist Renee Rosnes is joined on this version of “Goddess Of The Hunt,” performed on Jan. 13, 2020, just before the COVID pandemic hit, by trumpeter Ingrid Jensen, clarinetist Anat Cohen, tenor-saxophonist Nicole Glover (who had succeeded the original member Melissa Aldana), bassist Noriko Ueda, and drummer Allison Miller.
“Goddess Of The Hunt” is an adventurous number that is highlighted by blazing solos from Jensen and Cohen.
