I Can’t Believe That You’re In Love With Me – 2012
Tim Laughlin
A relaxed bit of classic jazz
Tim Laughlin has long been a major New Orleans clarinetist.
He often teamed up with the relatively gentle cornet playing of Connie Jones, particularly at classic jazz festivals.
For this relaxed but swinging version of “I Can’t Believe That You’re In Love With Me,” Laughlin and Jones are joined by trombonist Mike Pittsley, pianist Chris Dawson (who sounds here a bit like Jess Stacy), the chordal rhythm guitar of Katie Cavera, bassist Marty Eggers, and drummer Hal Smith.
All of the musicians have an opportunity to make a statement on this rendition of a Dixieland standard.
