In A Mellotone – 2019

Kurt Elling has been a major force on the jazz scene since the early 1990s, building up a large body of work and developing a style that, while originally influenced by Mark Murphy, becomes more original with each year.

In 2019 at the International Jazz Day in Melbourne, Australia, Elling was joined by a group that includes pianist Eric Reed and drummer Antonio Sanchez.

Elling sings a Ben Webster line based on “In A Mellotone,” swinging his way through the performance and showing as he always does that he has the spirit of a jazz instrumentalist.
