Despite having long and busy careers and complementary styles, Chick Corea and Bill Frisell had apparently never played together before and would never get a chance to make a record together other than this lone appearance.
Yet here is pianist Chick Corea and guitarist Bill Frisell jointly exploring a standard, “It Could Happen To You,” back in 2013.
After a couple minutes of getting comfortable, they swing together in an informal manner with Corea mostly leading the way, creating timeless music that finds the duo constantly reacting to each other and echoing each other’s ideas.
