Louis Armstrong and Jack Teagarden were good friends from the late 1920s on.
Teagarden was the trombonist in Armstrong’s All-Stars during 1947-52 and they had occasional reunions during the next decade.
From an episode of the Garry Moore television show in 1958, one at first sees cornetist Ruby Braff trading off with an offstage Armstrong before the latter joins Teagarden’s band for “Jeepers Creepers.”
With a smiling Cozy Cole on drums, Armstrong and Teagarden share the vocals and trade phrases with the trumpeter in particularly fine form.
