Composed in 1931 by John Klenner, “Just Friends” has since become a jazz standard. It’s since been covered by Pat Martino and Billie Holiday – in addition to Chet Baker. Baker and Getz’s association was long-running, but you might also recognize Baker’s name in its associations with Art Pepper and Gerry Mulligan.

This performance occurred February 18, 1983.

Personnel:

Stan Getz, sax
Chet Baker, trumpet, vocals
Jim McNeely, piano
