Lady Be Good – 2001

Regina Carter

The masterful jazz violinist plays with the Ray Brown Trio

During the past 15 years, Regina Carter has been the leading violinist in jazz.

Inspired by Stuff Smith but developing her own exciting style, Carter has been involved in many colorful projects through the years.

This clip from the 2002 Bern Jazz Festival has Carter joining bassist Ray Brown during his 75th birthday celebration.

Carter plays wonderfully with Brown’s trio which also includes pianist Larry Fuller and drummer George Fludas on a slower than usual version of “Lady Be Good” that is the epitome of swing.
