Chick Corea and Herbie Hancock would become associated acts for some time – a while – a full decade in fact – after Corea had replaced Hancock as a pianist for Miles Davis’ group. This performance, like many of Hancock’s at the time, was a gift exclusively to the Japanese, as many of Hancock’s albums were released only there.
A series of acoustic duets for Corea and Hancock marked a break in their normally heavily electronic scene.
