Eddie Harris was a wide-ranging tenor-saxophonist who stretched in his career from bebop to funk, was an innovator on the electric sax, and had such hits as “Exodus,” “Cold Duck Time” (with Les McCann), “Freedom Jazz Dance” and “Listen Here.”

Harris first recorded the funky “Listen Here” in 1966, having a best-seller with his second version from 1967 (included on his The Electrifying Eddie Harris Lp).

This film clip features Harris (playing acoustically) performing “Listen Here” live in Germany in 1990 with a tight rhythm section.
