A composition by Eubie Blake published in 1930, “Memories of You” was introduced the same year for the musical “Lew Leslie’s Blackbirds of 1930.” Soon after Louis Armstrong would help to popularize the tune.

In addition to Benny Goodman, other jazz greats known to have covered this song include Erroll Garner, Billy Eckstine, Anita O’Day, Ella Fitzgerald, Art Tatum, George Shearing and Thelonious Monk.
