Throughout her career, flutist and soprano-saxophonist Jane Bunnett has done a great deal to help Cuban jazz musicians and music in general.
In addition to arranging for many Cuban greats to leave their homeland and go on tours with her groups, she has raised quite a bit of money to acquire instruments for music schools in Cuba.
In 1997, she teamed up with veteran pianist Frank Emilio at the Montreal Jazz Festival for a captivating version of his “Midnight Theme”; the other pianist is Hilario Duran.
