Pianist Keith Jarrett always had the ability to take the most overplayed song and, even when stating its melody, make it sound fresh and new.

He led his Standards Trio with bassist Gary Peacock and drummer Jack DeJohnette for over 30 years (1983-2014), offering a contrast with his freely improvised solo concerts and giving him a solid group that allowed him to create inventive versions of older songs.

Jarrett takes “Georgia On My Mind” on a soulful and danceable ride; he actually dances a little while playing piano on this song.
